Mrs Ritu Khanna is an Occupational Therapist (OT) based in Prospect, in Sydney’s west. She works from 3/3 Aldgate St, Prospect NSW 2148. Her focus is on helping people manage day to day life, even when tasks feel hard or take more effort than they used to. In many cases, it’s not just about doing things, it’s about doing them safely and in a way that fits real life.
Mrs Khanna looks at how a person’s daily routines are going at home, at work, and out in the community. This can include getting dressed, cooking, personal care, household tasks, and getting around comfortably. She also helps with planning and pacing activities so people can conserve energy and avoid feeling wiped out after small efforts. At times, this support makes a big difference to confidence, mood, and independence.
A big part of her work is assessing daily living skills and then building a plan around what matters most to the person. She helps create personalised treatment plans, with clear goals that are realistic. The aim is to reduce barriers and make everyday tasks feel more achievable. This might include learning new ways to do tasks, practising with supports, and changing the routine so it’s easier to stick with.
Mrs Khanna can also assist with adaptive equipment. If something in the home or daily routine needs adjusting, she helps work out what could help and how to use it. This often includes making recommendations that support safer movement, better comfort, and more efficient ways to get through the day. Energy conservation training is commonly part of the approach too, especially when someone is dealing with fatigue or limited stamina.
Over time, she supports people to take small steps that add up. Whether the challenge is related to recovery after injury, managing ongoing health changes, or adapting to life with a disability, the goal stays the same: support independence and practical day to day function. Mrs Khanna’s OT training helps guide her work, and she stays focused on what’s workable in the real world, not just in a clinic.
