Ms Sinead A Noonan is an Occupational Therapist (OT) based in St Leonards, NSW, working from 4/2 Westbourne St, St Leonards NSW 2065.
Occupational therapy is all about helping people do the everyday things that matter to them. That can mean getting back to work, managing daily routines at home, or making daily tasks feel less stressful and more doable. In many cases, the goal is to find practical ways to support independence, comfort, and safety.
Ms Noonan looks after clients of different ages who may be dealing with things like difficulties with daily living activities, changes in movement or hand use, or challenges that affect the way someone carries out everyday tasks. At times, problems can be small but tiring, like struggling with fine motor skills or finding it hard to keep up with work or study demands. Other times, the focus is on bigger changes, such as adjusting to new limits after an injury or health change.
A big part of the work is assessing daily living activities. This means taking a close look at what someone is finding tricky, where the breakdown happens, and what supports would make things easier. From there, recommendations can be made for adaptive equipment and simple changes that suit the person’s routine and environment. The aim is usually not to “fix everything” at once, but to build confidence step by step.
Ms Noonan also provides recommendation and training for adaptive equipment. This is where things can get very hands-on. Learning how to use an item properly can make a real difference, especially when the equipment needs to fit into everyday habits. Alongside this, she helps with fine motor skills, focusing on activities that support better hand function and more reliable performance during real-life tasks.
Workplace ergonomic evaluations are another key part of her approach. Many people don’t realise how much small setup issues can affect pain, fatigue, or focus. In work settings, gentle adjustments to how tasks are done, how equipment is set up, or how movement is managed can make a big difference over time.
Over the course of sessions, care also includes developing personalized treatment plans. These plans are meant to be practical and clear, with goals that match the person’s life and day-to-day needs. If progress slows, the plan is adjusted, because at times that’s just how real life works.
Ms Noonan’s work is grounded in everyday function and long-term support, helping people find solutions they can actually use at home, at work, and in their community.
